this one is based on a musical game, where you take letters from A-G (all of the letters that correspond to musical notes), then make a word out of those letters, then make a song based on the word. i had the idea before i had the song. originally it was going to be a double-time instrumental psychedelic punk thing, a la Fucked Up. it morphed into this. inspired by green day's "F.O.D." as an album closer. frankie drew on his own experiences and wrote a little tale to match the title. obviously the genre needed to be "stoner rock." and thus, the blanks were filled in.

anyhow - the acoustic guitar was recorded first. when it came time to add other stuff, i realized i'd tuned it down a full-step, so the chords are not actually "CBD" but the song had been written at that point. easter egg for the completists - behind the line "did you hear the news?" the chords are CBC. yuk yuk yuk.
